Why execMobile ?

How much does it cost?

Our SIM cards cost as little as R99 which includes delivery anywhere in South Africa but can ship worldwide. Our PocketWifi offer a better alternative to no fuss connectivity of multiple devices and start as low as R499. Check our data rates under the Rates & Coverage section of the website.

What kind of device do I need?

If you only purchase a data SIM for use in your smartphone or tablet, our service only works with unlocked devices. Before you travel please check that your phone will work in your destination (some countries operate on different network frequencies which may not be supported by your make or model).

What do I do if I lose my SIM or PocketWifi?

How long will it take to receive my SIM?

We currently offer 2 delivery options •Standard Courier: Next day (by 10h30 the next day in major centres) for South African deliveries •International Courier: 5-9 Working days (depending on your location)

How can I be sure my device will work where I am roaming?

Please check to make sure your device operates on the frequencies supported in the destination country. e.g. Australia operates on 900/1800 however USA operates on 850/1900 or even 1700, carrier dependent.

How do I activate my service?

When your package arrives, please read the Welcome Letter and follow the instructions carefully.

Our Value SIM is shipped pre-loaded with data and activates on arrival. You will however have to change your APN settings as per the Welcome letter.
Our Smart SIM or PocketWifi requires you to load a data bundle prior to travel – you can create an online account too to monitor your usage in real time and top up again. You will need to change your device’s APN settings as per the Welcome Letter.
Our Pro PocketWifi requires no setup. Simply arrive, turn on and enjoy wireless connectivity wherever you are.

Can I track and manage my account online?

Yes. In addition, you need to ensure your Bank issuer has enabled 2-point authentication (Visa 3-D Secure, MasterCard Securecode etc.). execMobile currently accept the following as payment methods:

Will my execMobile SIM expire?

Will I need to manually select a network when I arrive in a country?

No, the good news is that we will automatically steer you on to execMobile’s partner network. Therefore, you do not need to do anything. Just switch on the device and we do the rest.

(NB* Please ensure you have set up any APN settings required for your devices – our PocketWifi units are pre-configured and will work with our SIMs, but you will need to setup any of your personal devices).

Will I need to do anything different to the SIM card when I travel to another country?
No, when you leave and travel to another country, our service will seamlessly switch to the preferred network of that country without any requirement on your part

Where is coverage offered?

execMobile has partnered with the biggest network operators globally to ensure there is high-speed data coverage wherever you travel. There will always be great coverage in cities and towns, however if you are traveling to exceptionally rural or uninhabited areas (such as a ski resort), we recommend you get in touch with us in advance so we can verify there is network coverage.

What is the data download/upload speed?

Data speeds depend on our partner networks and coverage. The connection can either be 2G (GPRS), 3G or H (HSDPA), or even LTE. Download speeds will be around 21-7.2 Mbps, while the upload speed is up to 5.76 Mbps. In some countries (e.g. USA) we offer higher 4G speeds with devices that are capable of LTE connections.

What is 3G or LTE?

3G, or 3rd generation of mobile telecommunications technology, and LTE are wireless communications technologies which supports data access.

Does VoIP (e.g. Skype) work with the execMobile solutions?
VoIP will work with all our data connections. This includes Skype, iChat and Facetime.
